During a work visit to Hungary between 24 and 28 March 2024, the Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to Hungary, H.E. Roberto Buontempo, presented his Letters of Credence to H.E. Tamas Sulyok, President of Hungary, on 26 March 2024, at the Presidential Palace in Budapest.

The presentation of credentials was preceded by the Ambassador presenting his Copie d’Usage to the Protocol Chief of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary. During his visit in Budapest, Ambassador Buontempo met with the Head of the European Commission Representation and the Apostolic Nuncio.  He also held meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary with the State Secretary for the Aid of Persecuted Christians, the Deputy State Secretary for Development of European Relations, the Head of Department for Western and Southern Europe, where current Affairs, bilateral relations, and potential areas for further collaboration between Malta and Hungary were discussed.  A meeting with the representative of the Malta Tourism Authority in Budapest was also held.

Throughout the visit in Budapest, the Ambassador was accompanied by his spouse and Mr. Daniel Sammut, First Secretary at the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of Malta.
