On 30 January 2023, Mr Christopher Cutajar, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Malta, hosted H.E. Kreshnik Ahmeti, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo for political consultations.
During the cordial meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the dynamic bilateral relations between Malta and Kosovo as well as several other dossiers of mutual interest, including the war in Ukraine, Malta’s present mandate as an elected member on the United Nations Security Council and Kosovo’s European aspirations, among others.
Permanent Secretary Cutajar and Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmeti signed the renewal of the Cooperation Framework between the respective Ministries for Foreign Affairs which deals with the sharing of best practices, expertise, and training. Furthermore, the framework identifies other areas of cooperation, such as health, education, and culture, with the aim of bolstering the already good relations that exist between the two countries.
