Presentation of Letters of Credence

On 22 November 2023, Ambassador Anne-Marie Muscat Fenech Adami presented her Letters of Credence to His Excellency Rumen Radev, President of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Ambassador Muscat Fenech Adami was escorted to the President’s Administration Building where she was welcomed by the Head of the State Protocol, and after assisting to the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Bulgaria inspected the Guards of Honour.

Following the presentation of the Letters of Credence an exchange was held with His Excellency the President of the Republic of Bulgaria where the excellent relations between the two countries were noted as well as the mutual desire to further strengthen the trade relations.

Also present at the ceremony were high ranking representatives of the Office of the President including the Head of Office of the President, the Chief Administrative Secretary of the President, and the Foreign Policy Secretary. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Elena Shekerletova was also in attendance.

The Ambassador was accompanied by her spouse Mr. Brian Muscat, and by Mr. David Muscat, Counsellor at the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Malta.

Following the ceremony Ambassador Muscat Fenech Adami assisted to the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Malta after which a visit was held to the to the Monument of the Unknown Soldier for the placing of a bouquet of flowers as a sign of respect.

Presentation of Copie d’Usage

On the preceding day, 21 November 2023, Ms Anne-Marie Muscat Fenech Adami, Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the Republic of Bulgaria presented her Copie d’Usage to H.E. Elena Shekerletova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Following the presentation ceremony, H.E. the Deputy Minister wished Ambassador Muscat Fenech Adami success during her term as Ambassador. The Deputy Minister noted that there are a number of avenues that can be explored to further strengthen the excellent bilateral relations including education and tourism as well as cooperation at the EU level.

Ambassador Muscat Fenech Adami thanked the Deputy Minister and looked forward to the identification of areas of cooperation in particular in cultural exchanges, as well as education with focus on English learning.

Ambassador Muscat Fenech Adami was accompanied by Mr. David Muscat, Counsellor at the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Malta.

Meetings were also held with the Acting Head of the EU Representation and with the Honorary Consul General for Malta, Mr Borislav Boyanov.
