Dr Mark A. Pace presented his credentials as Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the Kingdom of The Netherlands to His Majesty the King Willem-Alexander at Noordeinde Palace, The Hague, on 15th July 2020. Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Joke Brandt and Grand Master of the Royal Household H.E. Chris Breedveld were also present.

During the exchange with His Majesty Willem-Alexander, His Excellency Dr Pace referred to the strong ties while also noting the similarities between the two countries. This included irregular immigration, with the importance for a comprehenive approach and solidarity being underlined.

The current challenges Malta is facing were also touched upon, with Ambassador Pace referring to the extensive reforms being designed and implemented by the Maltese government.

Ambassador Pace was accompanied by his partner, Mr Rick Bijkerk and Mr Simon Grech – First Secretary at the Embassy of Malta in The Hague.

As part of the Embassy’s mandate in the Netherlands, Ambassador also presented her credentials as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Malta to the Director-General of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). H.E. Fernando Arias on 17 July 2020. The two Ambassadors exchanged views on the Organisation, its objectives as well as Malta’s role within OPCW. Both sides confirmed the importance of multilateralism within increasing challenging international landscape.
