On 03 April 2023, Her Excellency Cecilia Attard-Pirotta, the Maltese Ambassador to Israel, joined members of the diplomatic community in Israel in a tree planting ceremony to mark the 75th Anniversary of the State of Israel. The ceremony was hosed by the Israeli Minister for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Eli Cohen.

The ceremony, held at a park in Jerusalem, was also co-organized by the Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF), a non-profit organization responsible for afforestation, land reclamation, and water resource development in Israel. The tree planting was part of a rehabilitation effort to restore the Jerusalem Forest after damages caused by hazardous weather.

During the ceremony, the Ambassador and other dignitaries planted trees in the park, symbolizing the growth and prosperity of the State of Israel. The 75th Anniversary of the State of Israel is a significant milestone in the history of the country, and the participation of the Maltese Ambassador in the tree planting ceremony underscores the strong and growing relationship between Malta and Israel.
