From Saturday 22 to Monday 24 April, the Ambassador of Malta to Austria, Natasha Meli Daudey, was on an official visit to Innsbruck, the capital of the province of Tyrol.
The Ambassador’s programme started with an official invitation by Anton Mattle, Governor of Tyrol, to attend Edelweiss Gala Concert of the Militärmusik Tirol as special guest. The Austrian Minister of Defense Klaudia Tanner was the guest of honour.
The Ambassador had the opportunity to meet Defence Minister Tanner before the concert and to discuss issues such as the neutrality of the two countries, cooperation in defence matters and the Minister’s upcoming visit to Malta in June.
The official visit included meetings with Anton Mattle, Governor of Tyrol, Georg Willi, Mayor of Innsbruck, Sonja Ledl-Rossmann, President of the Tyrolean Parliament, and Cornelia Hagele, Provincial Councillor for Science, Education and Health. During these meetings, topics regarding tourism, sustainability, energy, gender representation, as well as arts and culture were discussed.
Ambassador Meli Daudey’s visit concluded with a meeting with representatives of ADSI (Austrian Drug Testing Institute) and Bionorica Research, during which the two entities had the possibility to present their activity and possible research cooperation was discussed. Ambassador Meli Daudey was welcomed by Dr. Fischler, chair of the ADSI board, former federal Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and EU Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries and Prof. Bonn, ADSI Managing Director, Scientific Director and Co-Founder.
During her visit, the Ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Jakob Grüner, who kindly organised the visit.
