Consular services are delivered strictly by appointment. The public can schedule an appointment by calling the Representative Office on the following numbers: +970 2 241 3210/1, Monday through Thursday from 0800hrs to 1700hrs and Friday from 0900hrs to 1300hrs with the exception of public holidays observed by the Representative Office (see holidays attached list)
1. Passports
Maltese passports are issued exclusively by the Passport Office in Malta and all passports feature biometric data. Hence applications must be submitted in person at the Representative Office where biometric data (photograph, fingerprints and signature) is captured electronically and transmitted to the Passport Office in Malta for processing. Please call +970 2 241 3210/1 or send an email to info.ramallah@gov.mt in order to schedule an appointment for the purpose of submitting an application. Appointments are scheduled Monday through Friday during the opening hours of the Representative Office.
To apply for a new passport, applicants must personally submit the following to the Representative Office:

Important Notes:
1. Parents who are submitting an application on behalf of their minor child/ren should present their own passport as well as the other parent's passport (where applicable) together with the application of the minor child.
2. The photos presented together with the application need to be endorsed (on the reverse side) by the same recommender of section 7 and 8 of the passport application form.
3. If you are applying for a new passport due to a change in your surname through marriage please also provide your marriage certificate and the birth certificate of your spouse. If you were married outside Palestine or Malta please provide legalised/apostilled copies of the required certificates.
4. If you are applying for a passport for the first time you should:
i. Present a valid form of identification (eg. passport, Maltese ID card, driving license, etc) when submitting your application.
ii. Complete Section 8 of the passport application form and present 2 certified photographs.
iii. Where applicable, please present your certificate or letter of citizenship.
iv. If you have not applied for citizenship through the Representative Office please present your birth certificate, your parents’ birth certificates and your parents’ marriage certificate together with your certificate of citizenship.
v. If you are applying for a first time passport on behalf of your child please provide the child’s birth certificate, your marriage certificate (where applicable), your birth certificate and your spouse’s birth certificate (where applicable).
* Certificates to be produced MUST BE ORIGINAL certificates from the registry of the place where the birth/marriage occurred or was registered. These must be apostilled or legalised if they do not originate in Malta or Palestine. Information about Birth/marriage certificates issued by the Public Registry in Malta can be retrieved by the Representative Office. In order to be of assistance in this regard please provide us with the accurate relative dates and names of ascendants (Form CEA27)

2. Citizenship
If you are interested in acquiring Maltese citizenship, kindly refer to

Citizenship can be acquired either by Birth, by Registration, by Naturalisation, by Dual/Multiple Citizenship and through Direct Investment. You may also find the updated citizenship fees at the end of the respective application form.
3. Authentication of Documents / Signatures

5. Marriage in Malta
Foreign nationals who wish to marry in Malta should contact the Malta marriage registry by email, by

7. Public Registry Certificates
Birth, Marriage, Divorce and Death certificates may be registered in Malta through the Representative Office. Only original and apostilled/legalised certificates can be registered. Applications for registration of documents are processed by the Public Registry in Malta and hence the process may take up to a few weeks. Original certificates that are presented for registration are retained by the Public Registry in Malta and will not be returned to the applicant.
