It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the website of the Embassy of the Republic of Malta in Paris.

Diplomatic relations between Malta and France were formally established soon after Malta become independent in 1964, however the bilateral ties between our two countries go back much further and are deeply rooted in history. Malta’s capital city, Valletta, is a testament to this, having been named after the 16th century French Grand Master, Jean Parisot de la Valette.

Over the years, Malta and France have consolidated their bilateral exchanges and strong collaboration in a wide variety of fields and at all levels in a spirit of true friendship. Our partnership assumed even greater significance following Malta’s accession to the European Union in 2004.

The Embassy’s mission statement is to continue working to build upon and further deepen the strong bonds which unite Malta and France and to explore new avenues of cooperation in the political, economic, commercial, cultural, scientific and technical spheres among others, for the mutual benefit of the Maltese and French peoples. The Embassy is also committed to providing an efficient and effective consular service to all Maltese nationals in France.

I hope that you find this website, its information about the Embassy’s activities, and the services that we offer, useful. Should you require further information, you are most welcome to contact us.
