Cooperation Programme signed between MEDAC and the Institute of Diplomatic Studies of Saudi Arabia

On 15th November 2015, a Cooperation Programme between the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies (MEDAC) of the University of Malta and the Institute of Diplomatic Studies (IDS) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was signed in Riyadh.

The objectives of the agreement reached include establishing and strengthening cooperation in exchange of information and documents, research activities and training programmes, studies and expertise between both Institutes as well as to exchange invitations of specialists to attend workshops and conferences and the exchange of lecturers and students. Both Institutes agreed to discuss joint programmes for training of diplomats, and on issues related to teaching foreign languages and to hold meetings on mutual interest issues among Ministry for Foreign Affairs officials, Faculty members of the Institutes of Diplomacy and the students.

The Ambassador of Malta to Saudi Arabia, Martin Valentino, said that this agreement augurs well for closer cooperation between respective Institutes. The agreement was signed at the IDS in Riyadh by Ambassador Valentino on behalf of MEDAC, and by Professor Abdulkarim Al Dekhayel, General Director of the Institute of Diplomatic Studies. The Ambassador of Malta in Riyadh had initiated discussions with the General Director of IDS which led to the signing of this agreement.
