Notice on Consular Services

The Embassy informs the public that due to the recent COVID-19 outbreaks in Beijing and in line with local prevention and control measures, the Embassy will operate on a skeleton staff until further notice.

Appointments for Consular Services may only be considered in cases of essential purposes.

Effective 24 May 2022, courier services have been suspended in Beijing. Consequently, the mission will not be able to accept postal applications for visa and consular services until further notice as couriers cannot be received or sent back to applicants. This also impacts all visa applications from the Philippines as well as D Visas processed via postal applications from Vietnam, Mongolia, and Cambodia.

Temporary closure of Consulate General in Shanghai

Due to the COVID 19 lockdown in Shanghai the Consulate General of Malta is temporarily closed.

The visa application centre is also closed until further notice. Shanghai VAC Closed | vfsglobal

The Consulate General will open once again when the lockdown restrictions are removed.
